Seminary: Can We Afford to Go? Can We Afford Not to Go? | Kosher Money Episode 40

Each year, thousands of Orthodox Jewish girls go to seminary, an educational institution often located far from home, in the United States and abroad, particularly in Israel. The costs associated with this decision can be significant, and in many instances, girls and their families may prepare for years to afford it or, unfortunately, fall into debt as a result, depending on their financial situation and outlook. We spoke with Rabbi Zecharya Greenwald, owner and principal of Meohr Bais Yaakov, an Israel-based seminary, and Mrs. Ahuvah Heyman, a director of Bnos Yisroel of Baltimore, a large girls’ school, to learn about the costs of seminary and so much more.
